BESS Cabinet Installation Checklist
A cabinet storage system arrives as an integrated unit, but its installation is a small construction and electrical project in its own right. This general checklist covers the ground to prepare and the questions to settle with the project parties before the cabinet is on site; the exact requirements for a project are those in its own documentation.
Before and during installation
- Base and position: a level, drained base in the agreed outdoor position, with the access the delivery and future service need
- Electrical interface: the connection point at the main distribution, cable routes, and protection arrangements agreed in the project design
- Solar interface: how the array connects, where existing solar equipment is involved
- Commissioning: who commissions the system, what is tested, and what the site sees during testing
- Handover: documentation handed over, monitoring access set up, alarms explained, and the service contact recorded
The questions that save money are the unglamorous ones: who prepares the base, who provides the crane or forklift time, and who owns the gap between delivery and commissioning. Settle them in the project plan, in writing, while the cabinet is still being assembled.
An inquiry that already names the installation position and the connection point gets a materially better quotation, because the integration scope is visible from the start.
