Storage Maintenance Checklist
Battery storage is low-maintenance equipment, not no-maintenance equipment. This checklist is a general owner's guide for keeping a system in good order; the specific service requirements for your model are the ones in its documentation and its warranty wording, which take precedence over any general list.
Periodic checks
- Look the installation over: enclosure condition, cable entries, any sign of water, dust buildup or pest damage
- Check the environment: ventilation paths clear, nothing stored against the unit, no new heat source nearby
- Read the system's own display or monitoring: state of charge behaviour, any alarms or fault history
- Compare performance with expectation: is the system cycling as planned, and does the bill pattern still match the plan?
- Keep the paperwork together: specification, warranty wording, and the record of any alarms or service visits
Two habits matter more than any single check. First, notice changes early: a system that quietly stops cycling is losing money or signalling a fault, and its own data usually shows it. Second, agree the service route before you need it — who to contact, what information to send, and what the warranty asks of you as the owner.
For cabinet systems outdoors, add the site checks: the base and drainage, door seals, and the access path a service visit will need.
